Tosha Suggs was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but her roots are deeply grounded in the Palmetto State of South Carolina, specifically Hilton Head Island. Faith and family remain at the center of her life. A devoted mother and proud grandmother to Kade and bonus grandson Javier, Tosha is committed to encouraging others, serving her community, mentoring youth, and living a life rooted in faith and purpose.
In 2017, after the devastating loss of both her mother and her best friend within six months, Tosha began pursuing her dream of becoming an author. During one of the most difficult seasons of her life, she was later diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. Through chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and continued treatment, she remained determined to live beyond her diagnosis. Following her double mastectomy in February 2025, pathology revealed no residual cancer, and she entered remission in March 2025. In 2026, she celebrated one year in remission and continues to embrace survivorship with gratitude, faith, and purpose.
Using old journals, personal reflections, and her lived experiences, Tosha transforms seasons of grief, trauma, illness, and healing into words that encourage and uplift others. Her writing reminds readers that a "broken vessel" does not mean being without value β it means God can still use you. Tosha is a mental health advocate, passionate about breaking stigmas, creating safe spaces for real conversations, and supporting others on their journey to emotional and spiritual wellness.
As a breast cancer survivor, author, advocate, mental health advocate, and proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (Phi Phi Zeta Chapter), Tosha continues to use her testimony to empower others to persevere through life's challenges with faith, resilience, and hope.
